Ning Gao

I am a Senior Applied Scientist in the OneDrive and SharePoint (ODSP) Applied Science team at Microsoft. My interests span AI agents, agent harnesses and evaluation, natural language processing, information retrieval, and knowledge extraction. My work at Microsoft has covered agent learning, knowledge graphs, conversational AI, resource scheduling, and evaluation infrastructure for AI models and agents.

Before joining Microsoft, I received my Ph.D. in Information Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park (opens in new tab), advised by Professor Douglas W. Oard (opens in new tab). I also hold master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science from Peking University (opens in new tab).
