Dr. Chong Luo is General Manager of Research Sciences at Microsoft Research Asia and Director of the Shanghai Lab. She received her bachelor’s degree from Fudan University in 2000, followed by a master’s degree from the National University of Singapore and a Ph.D. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She joined MSRA in 2003, and her current research interests include multimodal AI, image and video understanding and generation, large language models, AI agents, and human-AI collaboration.

Dr. Luo has served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Multimedia and has repeatedly served as an Area Chair for top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICML, ICLR, and NeurIPS. Her research work has been recognized with Outstanding Paper Awards at ICLR 2023 and AAAI 2026.
