Andrey Zaikin is a Senior Applied Scientist and Economist on the IDEAS Research team (lead by Scott Counts) at Microsoft, where he studies how AI is transforming work. His research examines AI adoption and usage, human-AI collaboration, and their implications for productivity, organizations, and the broader economy.

His work combines large-scale behavioral and productivity data, telemetry, labor market information, and occupational frameworks to understand how work is evolving in the age of AI. He develops measurement frameworks that help organizations assess AI adoption, human-AI collaboration, productivity gains, and emerging opportunities for AI agents and agentic workflows.

Andrey’s research interests span the future of work, AI economics, occupational and task transformation, and the societal impacts of increasingly capable AI systems. By studying real-world AI use at scale, he aims to generate insights that help people and organizations navigate the AI transformation thoughtfully and effectively.
