The Frontier program allows you to opt in to innovative and emerging AI features before general availability. Access varies depending on your role and subscription.
ACCESS REQUIREMENTS
What you need to access Frontier
Unlock Frontier features with a Microsoft 365 Pro, Premium, Personal, or Family account. Depending on how you access Copilot, you may need to opt in to enable Frontier features.
Eligible Microsoft 365 subscription
You must have an active Microsoft 365 Pro, Premium, Personal, or Family subscription to access Frontier features.
Access to Microsoft 365 for web
In Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on the web, Frontier must be turned on for each app separately in Copilot settings.
- Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint on the web
- Under File, go to Options, then Copilot settings
- Turn on “Preview Frontier Features”
Copilot settings opt-in
In the Microsoft 365 Copilot desktop app, eligible subscribers automatically see Frontier features.
- No manual opt-in required
- Features will be labeled “(Frontier)”
- Availability may vary by feature
