This includes an existing Hadoop-as-a-service solution, <a href=\"http:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/hdinsight\/?WT.mc_id=Blog_SQL_Announce_DI\">Azure HDInsight<\/a>, a hyper-scale repository for big data, <a href=\"http:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/campaigns\/data-lake\/?WT.mc_id=Blog_SQL_Announce_DI\">Azure Data Lake<\/a>, and Hadoop infrastructure-as-a-service offerings from <a href=\"http:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/marketplace\/partners\/hortonworks\/hortonworks-dataplatform\/?WT.mc_id=Blog_SQL_Announce_DI\">Hortonworks<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/marketplace\/partners\/cloudera\/?WT.mc_id=Blog_SQL_Announce_DI\">Cloudera<\/a>. This week, Hortonworks also announced their most recent milestone with <a href=\"http:\/\/hortonworks.com\/hdp2.3-release\/\">Hortonworks Data Platform 2.3<\/a> which will be available on Azure this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we are excited to announce that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapr.com\/company\/press-releases\/mapr-offer-cloud-based-hadoop-microsoft-azure\">MapR<\/a>\u00a0will also be available in the summer as an option for customers to deploy Hadoop from the Azure Marketplace. MapR is a leader in the Hadoop community that offers the MapR Distribution including Hadoop which includes MapR-FS, an HDFS and POSIX compliant file store, and MapR-DB, a NoSQL key value store. The Distribution also includes core Hadoop projects such as Hive, Impala, SparkSQL, and Drill, and MapR Control System, a comprehensive management system. When MapR is available in the Azure Marketplace, customers will be able to launch a full Hadoop cluster based on MapR as an Azure Virtual Machine with a few clicks. Together with <a href=\"http:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/campaigns\/data-lake\/?WT.mc_id=Blog_SQL_Announce_DI\">Azure Data Lake<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cm-edgetun.pages.dev\/en-us\/sql-server\/sql-server-downloads\">SQL Server<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.powerbi.com\/?WT.mc_id=Blog_SQL_Announce_DI\">Power BI<\/a>, this will allow organizations to build big data solutions quickly and easily by using the best of Microsoft and MapR.<\/p>\n<p>Our partnership with MapR allows customers to use the Hadoop distribution of their choice while getting the cloud benefits of Azure.
