This demonstration shows an iRobot Create with a UMPC (a small Tablet PC with resistive digitizer) on it. The UMPC communicates with the robot via serial port. The UMPC is used to enter the story and also to show the head\/arm\/shoulder of the Coolbot actor while playing back a story. The example shown is: \u201cOne day Coolbot was at home\u201d, then \u201cCoolbot was very happy and started dancing\u201d, followed by \u201cSuddenly he tripped and feel down\u201d, and finally, \u201cFinally, he stood up and started spinning.\u201d The playback shows Coolbot acting inside the UMPC by gesticulating while saying \u201cI am at home!,\u201d then the physical robot moves back and forth while some music is heard, and the virtual Coolbot dances on the UMPC\u2019s screen. Then the physical robot moves forward very fast while Coolboat yells and stops suddenly with the noise of glass breaking as an image of broken glass appears over the Coolbot actor.
