The goal of this workshop is to delve into the ethical implications of big models (such as GPT, Galactica, CLIP, DALL.E-2) and to stimulate critical thinking and meaningful discussions on the subject. Through keynote talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, we hope to shed light on the key questions and identify promising avenues for future research in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop will bring together leading experts from the fields of law and computing to address the critical interdisciplinary ethical issues surrounding the deployment and use of AI (artificial intelligence), with a particular focus on intellectual property, privacy, fairness, misinformation, disinformation, and other technology misuse issues. We believe that the outcomes of this workshop will have a lasting impact on the field and help shape the future of AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is China\u2019s first visually impaired person to pursue a doctoral degree at the China Academy of Social Sciences, specializing in Communications. Since 2010, as a researcher of the Harvard Law School Project on Disability, Cai led the editing of a series of disability case studies called \u201cCanku\u201d (\u6b8b\u5e93), covering issues of disability and gender, disability and employment, and disability and people. Yan has significant experience assisting multinational companies navigating the rapidly-evolving Chinese cybersecurity and data privacy rules. Her work includes high-stakes compliance advice on strategic issues such as data localization and cross border data transfer, as well as data protection advice in the context of strategic transactions. I am a US-based data scientist focused on creating open technology to help vulnerable communities and all stakeholders participate in the analysis and development of American public policy. In 2021, I began exploring the potential impacts of AI systems on democratic and legislative processes with Bruce Schneier in a paper titled, \u201cMachine Learning Featurizations for AI Hacking of Political Systems.\u201d We have translated these ideas to a general audience in pieces for the New York Times and other outlets. As a past Fellow and Affiliate of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, I co-direct the Climate Justice Design Fellowship program. As an ML researcher, I have built and led data science teams in the media and biotech industries, served as a Policy Fellow in the Massachusetts state legislature, and co-founded three international organizations that support early career science communicators. I am a US-based data scientist focused on creating open technology to help vulnerable communities and all stakeholders participate in the analysis and development of American public policy. In 2021, I began exploring the potential impacts of AI systems on democratic and legislative processes with Bruce Schneier in a paper titled, \u201cMachine Learning Featurizations for AI Hacking of Political Systems.\u201d We have translated these ideas to a general audience in pieces for the New York Times and other outlets. As a past Fellow and Affiliate of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, I co-direct the Climate Justice Design Fellowship program. As an ML researcher, I have built and led data science teams in the media and biotech industries, served as a Policy Fellow in the Massachusetts state legislature, and co-founded three international organizations that support early career science communicators. I serve on the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Physics and am an Associate Editor of the Harvard Data Science Review.
