In this talk, I will highlight several projects from our past and present as viewed through the lens of the research software engineers that made them a reality.\r\n<h2>Workshop<\/h2>\r\n<strong>Be a happy RSE<\/strong>\r\n\r\nSamin Ishtiaq, Principal Research Software Development Engineer, Microsoft Research\r\n\r\nBeing happy is easier than C++ move semantics, than Linux driver support, than Windows registry. I want to talk about being happy, about being productive, about remaining skilled, useful and smiling. How we relate with other programmers, managers, lab directors, researchers, and other \u201cothers\u201d affects our happiness, and maybe more of it under our control than we think.
