With the increase in energy consumption, finding alternate energy sources is crucial. Microbial Fuel Cells (MFCs) and Hydrogen Fuel Cells (HFCs) pose as promising candidates with considerable energy-yielding capacity. The proposed work uses a hybrid fuel cell architecture comprising of MFC and HFC units that utilize biowaste produced regularly in space to generate energy. The system is designed to produce a significant amount of electricity, sufficient to power small electronics such as environmental sensors, low-power LEDs, and microbots for maintenance or inspection tasks on the Bharatiya Antariksh Station(BAS), offering a sustainable and efficient energy solution for space applications.
