Build powerful business apps with Power Platform<\/h2>\n

In partnership with our friends at Udacity.com<\/a>, a learning platform for job seekers, we are launching our first free course that teaches low-code application development<\/a> with Microsoft Power Platform. This course will walk students step-by-step through building<\/span><\/span><\/span> Android and iOS apps with Microsoft Power Apps, automate <\/span><\/span><\/span>tasks in your app\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>with Microsoft Power Automate, and even harness the power of\u202f<\/span><\/span><\/span>artificial intelligence (AI)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>\u202fusing AI Builder<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0within you app<\/span><\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

5<\/span> lessons students will <\/span>learn<\/span><\/h2>\n

Lesson 1:\u00a0What is the Power Platform<\/h3>\n

Students will learn why low-code development is important, what Power Platform is, all the job opportunities that currently exist, and how they can best set themselves up to be successful during this course. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lesson 2:\u00a0Creating your first app with Power Apps<\/h3>\n

Students\u00a0<\/span>will deep dive into Power Apps, the low-code app building functionality of Power Platform.<\/span>\u00a0By the end of this lesson\u00a0<\/span>students will have built a detailed mobile app from a template and modified it to solve their o<\/span>wn problems.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lesson\u00a03: App development<\/h3>\n

Students<\/span>\u00a0will build\u00a0<\/span>their own app from scratch. They will build an inventory<\/span>\u00a0tracking app with a simple user interface that they will then\u00a0<\/span>hook up to a datastore<\/span>. T<\/span>hey will be able to use this app to solve any inventory management problem in their life or work.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lesson\u00a04: Using Power Automate\u00a0to automate tasks<\/h3>\n

Students\u00a0<\/span>will learn to automate tasks and workflows by buil<\/span>ding their own flows in\u00a0<\/span>Power Automate.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Students will build flows in their apps and then learn about how to create \u201ctriggers\u201d to actually trigger those flows.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lesson 5: Adding AI Builder to your app<\/h3>\n

This is the \u201cmagic\u201d lesson. Students will learn what AI really is. They will <\/span>create a business card scanner and a receipt scanner using pre-built AI models\u00a0<\/span>using AI Builder\u00a0<\/span>and then will learn how to buil<\/span>d and train their own AI model for their app.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

By the end of these lessons, students will have an app that they will be excited to show off to their co-workers, interviewers, family, and friends. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The course takes 10 to 20 hours or so to get through for someone new to Power Platform, and the course provides lessons, exercises, and quizzes to help students learn and retain the information. The course also walks students through the process of seeking out job opportunities for Power Platform wherever they might live as well as remote opportunities.<\/p>\n

Students will walk away with an app they have built themselves that they can show off in job interviews or in their workplace with the skills to build other apps to solve problems in their life and business. Absolutely no software development skills are required to take this course.<\/p>\n

According to a LinkedIn study<\/a>, there are currently projected to be almost 150 million vacant app development roles open by the year 2025. Currently there are not enough tech-skilled people in the world to start these jobs. Most people we know don\u2019t have the time or money to attend an expensive coding bootcamp or get a time-consuming Computer Science degree.
