Often, data is stored and maintained in different applications and exchange of data between these applications is very common. This blog shows one such scenario where data is copied from Finance and Operations into SharePoint along with some additional information.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s assume <strong>Contoso International <\/strong>is using <strong>Dynamics 365 for<\/strong> <strong>Finance and operations <\/strong>for their Financial and supply chain management. The company is eager on improving its products, service and processes, so they decide on getting feedback from their customers after every sales order is delivered\/invoiced. The IT team decides on storing customer feedback data in <strong>SharePoint<\/strong> list along with some basic sales order information. Tele callers are appointed, and they\u2019re required to find all delivered\/invoiced sales orders in Finance and Operations, call-up these customers, get their feedback and save it in SharePoint along with order details.<\/p>\n<p>The IT team builds a PowerApp and Embeds it into Finance and Operations to simplify the experience for the Tele callers.<\/p>\n<h3>End to End Scenario:<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Collect customer feedback in SharePoint after order delivery in Finance and Operations\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/0AJthIGtiik?start=10&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Prerequisites:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Create a SharePoint list called <b><i>Order Feedback<\/i><\/b> to collect and store all customer feedbacks. The SharePoint list should have following fields:\n<ul>\n<li>Sales Order Number (rename the Title field to this)<\/li>\n<li>Customer Account \u2013 Single line of Text<\/li>\n<li>Customer Name \u2013 Single line of Text<\/li>\n<li>Overall experience \u2013 Number<\/li>\n<li>Delivery \u2013 Number<\/li>\n<li>Product Quality \u2013 Number<\/li>\n<li>Overall feedback \u2013 Multiple lines of text<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In PowerApps, create a connection to <b>SharePoint<\/b> and <b>Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations<\/b> Instance<\/li>\n<li>Click on <a href=\"https:\/\/blogcode.blob.core.windows.net\/pablogassets\/F%26O_Series_blog\/SalesOrderFeedback_20181109004305.zip\">this link<\/a> to download the PowerApp package to your local computer<\/li>\n<li><b>Optional<\/b>: In Finance and Operations, add a custom Field called <b><i>Feedback<\/i><\/b> of Type Checkbox in Sales Orders to mark orders for which the feedback is recorded and complete. Refer <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/unified-operations\/fin-and-ops\/get-started\/user-defined-fields\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">this link<\/a> to learn about creating and working with custom fields in Finance and Operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong>The PowerApp uses <em>Finance and Operations<\/em> connector to grab sales order information and <em>SharePoint<\/em> connector to connect and write the data to SharePoint list.<\/p>\n<h3>Steps to import and use the app:<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Sign into PowerApps and in the left pane, click on <b><i>Apps<\/i><\/b> and select <b><i>Import Package<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><i>Upload<\/i><\/b> the PowerApp package which was saved on your computer as a prerequisite<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to choose <b><i>Create as new <\/i><\/b>under Import setup and click on <b><i>Import <\/i><\/b>to import the App<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"1\" border=\"0\" height=\"396\" src=\"https:\/\/pwrappscdn.azureedge.net\/mediahandler\/blog\/media\/PowerApps\/blog\/7f6a3a1e-6c3f-48c0-8117-937ed997c065.png\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor;margin-right: auto;margin-left: auto;float: none\" title=\"1\" width=\"610\"\/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>5. Once the import is complete, refresh the page to find a new app called <b>Sales Order Feedback<\/b><\/p>\n<p>6. Edit the App and click on <strong><i>View<\/i> &gt; <i>Data sources<\/i><\/strong>. You should find connections to <strong>SharePoint<\/strong> and <strong>Finance and Operations<\/strong>. Click on 3 dots to remove both these connections<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"2\" border=\"0\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/pwrappscdn.azureedge.net\/mediahandler\/blog\/media\/PowerApps\/blog\/bed02bf1-1226-478a-9d05-006f78e89bb7.png\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor;margin-right: auto;margin-left: auto;float: none\" title=\"2\" width=\"610\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>7. Click on <b><i>Add data Source<\/i> <\/b>to<b> <\/b>re-add the connections pointing to <b>your<\/b> <b>SharePoint list<\/b> and <b>your<\/b> <b>Finance and Operations instance <\/b>(Select <i>SalesOrderHeadersV2<\/i> entity).<\/p>\n<p>8. Make sure the app has no errors. Save and publish the app.<\/p>\n<p>9. Run the newly created app to make sure it is working fine. It should show the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Sales order (from your default legal entity) in Finance and Operations when run directly.<\/p>\n<p>10. Share the App with all\/required Finance and operations users (Permission set to: Can use).<\/p>\n<p>11. Click on the <strong><i>App details<\/i> <\/strong>to note down\/copy the <b><i>App ID<\/i><\/b> (GUID like: 7667970f-0bea-4454-605c-0113testef41)<\/p>\n<p>12. Open <b><i>Sales Order<\/i><\/b> form in <b>Finance and Operations<\/b>, Click on <b><i>PowerApps Icon<\/i><\/b> at the right top of the screen and select <b><i>Insert a PowerApp<\/i>.<\/b> Fill-in the required fields as described below and Click on <b><i>Insert<\/i>.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Name: <\/b>Display name in Finance and Operations to open the PowerApp<\/li>\n<li><b>App ID: <\/b>The App ID copied in the previous step<\/li>\n<li><b>Input data for PowerApp: <\/b>This field is used the pass a parameter to PowerApp. In this case, select field which contains the Sales Order Number (Sales order \u2013 SalesTable_SalesId)<\/li>\n<li><b>Application size: <\/b>Thin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"3\" border=\"0\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/pwrappscdn.azureedge.net\/mediahandler\/blog\/media\/PowerApps\/blog\/afa522a5-ed94-4945-b568-633525fd901b.png\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor;margin-right: auto;margin-left: auto;float: none\" title=\"3\" width=\"610\"\/><\/p>\n<p>13. Close and Re-open the Sales order, click on <b style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: 13.008px;font-style: inherit\"><i>PowerApps icon<\/i><\/b> to find a new menu item called <b style=\"font-family: inherit;font-size: 13.008px;font-style: inherit\"><i>Feedback<\/i><\/b>. Select it to open the embedded PowerApp:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"4\" border=\"0\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/pwrappscdn.azureedge.net\/mediahandler\/blog\/media\/PowerApps\/blog\/2c0af959-3c9b-47e8-9475-89befdd95483.png\" style=\"border: 0px currentcolor;margin-right: auto;margin-left: auto;float: none\" title=\"4\" width=\"610\"\/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is just a simple scenario showing how you can write into other data sources (SharePoint in this case) without leaving Finance and Operations. You can customize and enhance this App to be able to store all customer feedbacks in a different location if you like. You could also explore using <b><i>Microsoft Forms<\/i><\/b> or <b><i>Survey Monkey <\/i><\/b>to send the surveys to your customers and have this app read customer responses directly from these
