We\u2019ve continued developing support for these critical skills in PowerPoint. The audience is engaged throughout the presentation and sends reactions in real time. The new Microsoft Edge makes it easier for classrooms with shared devices with support for multiple profiles. This means students and teachers can quickly access their favorites, browsing history and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, there\u2019s much more to love. <strong>Consider Collections in Microsoft Edge<\/strong> (in preview). This new tool lets you organize your web research. Teachers can collect class-worthy content and create handouts from content found on the web, and students can use Collections for easier web research. Content gathered in Collections is stored with citations and can be exported to other Microsoft apps, such as Word and Excel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"new-resources-to-boost-collaboration-in-your-classroom\"><strong>New resources to boost collaboration in your classroom&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Microsoft Teams<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Teams is the digital hub that brings conversations, content, class assignments and apps together in one place. It makes communicating and collaborating with students, families, and colleagues easy, engaging and effective. This will offer a new experience for educators and will help them gain insight into student performance. Educators can add the new Class Insights tab to their class team and see average grades, on-time assignments, average return time, and conversation activity for their class over time. Teachers will have a single view to observe individual student and class performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this student data right at your fingertips, you\u2019ll be able make even more informed decisions about curriculum, pacing, and student engagement. Safety Management uses machine learning to analyze and block potentially harmful content, determine the severity, and escalate urgent cases to school authorities and law enforcement. Gaggle currently protects 4.5M students in the US and last school year alone, deescalated over 80,000 cases of self-harm and school violence. Plainfield Community School Corporation\u2019s Director of Technology shared that \u201cGaggle makes it so much easier for us to read and understand what is going on with our students.\u201d By monitoring online activity, schools can protect their students, creating safer environments for learning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gaggle products are currently available in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Outlook. Safety Management will be available for early access in Teams early next month. Alex\u2019s teaching practice and creative approach to Microsoft tools is a constant inspiration for us in EDU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For over a year, Alex has been enthusiastically suggesting that we take our turn-in celebrations and raise them, by a factor of one sloth. To Alex, the sloth is more than just a cute animal. The sloth\u2019s characteristic slow, deliberate movements represent her pedagogical approach to slow down, reflect, and take the time to authentically support every student. Class Notebooks provide a personal workspace for every student, a content library for handouts and a collaboration space for lessons and activities. We have lots of updates to share with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ll soon be enabling you to <strong>bulk delete a distributed page.\u00a0<\/strong>The top<a href=\"https:\/\/onenote.uservoice.com\/forums\/362784-education\"><strong>\u00a0UserVoice<\/strong><\/a> request from educators has been for the ability to bulk delete a distributed page in a OneNote Class Notebook. We listened, and we are excited to announce this will be rolling this feature out in February. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll also soon be able to <strong>\u201cSave a Copy\u201d in OneNote for the web<\/strong>. Educators, trainers, and students often want to make a copy of their notebook available to others. For example, you might want to share a great notebook template a coach gave you with colleagues or students. Next month, we\u2019ll be rolling out this ability to \u201cSave a Copy\u201d of a OneNote notebook. To begin with, this will only be supported within the same Office 365 Education tenant. Broader availability will follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another top request from teachers has been the ability to <strong>distribute a page from a non-EDU Notebook.&nbsp;<\/strong>Now available for OneNote, Windows 10, Mac, iPad and web, you can distribute a OneNote page from a regular OneNote notebook to your class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We think you\u2019ll like the new<strong>&nbsp;Manage Notebook improvements<\/strong> feature. Now, when you click the \u201cManage Notebook\u201d button in the Class Notebook toolbar, you will be launched directly into the Manage Notebooks space in the Class Notebook web app for the Class Notebook you are already in, which can help save teachers time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have several new tools to OneNote that foster accessibility and inclusion in the classroom that we\u2019ll highlight in a special What\u2019s New in EDU edition on Friday. So, tune in for that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And just a reminder that OneNote Desktop is NOT going away! In case you missed <a href=\"https:\/\/techcommunity.microsoft.com\/t5\/Office-365-Blog\/Your-OneNote\/ba-p\/954922\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>the big announcement<\/strong><\/a> in November, rest assured OneNote 2016 Desktop will stay supported for years. What\u2019s more, we will be updating it significantly in 2020 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, if you\u2019re just getting started with OneNote, you can find advice on using it in the classroom <a href=\"https:\/\/support.office.com\/en-us\/article\/getting-started-with-the-onenote-class-notebook-a-walkthrough-for-teachers-28666b8e-b0ae-48fe-b001-1874f5f6db58\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"new-ways-to-collaborate-with-microsoft-whiteboard-for-education\"><strong>New ways to collaborate with Microsoft Whiteboard for Education<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve got some new ways for students to collaborate when using Whiteboard, the freeform digital canvas that helps get student and educators working together. Here are the updates we think you and your students will love:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The ability for them to \u201clike\u201d any object on the Whiteboard canvas, great for voting on ideas during brainstorm sessions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EDU templates to Whiteboard. These are part of <a href=\"https:\/\/techcommunity.microsoft.com\/t5\/Office-365-Blog\/Microsoft-Whiteboard-Announces-Preview-of-New-Templates\/ba-p\/870604\"><strong>new intelligent templates<\/strong><\/a> currently in public preview to guide and drive project planning and discussions. This will help get students working together to generate and discuss ideas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>New, 1-tap class invite. It will allow teachers to invite their entire classroom to the Whiteboard in one tap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Post a Whiteboard to a Teams Channel from within the Whiteboard app. It\u2019s easy and just like what you can already do with OneNote Class Notebook in Teams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"microsoft-stream\"><strong>Microsoft Stream<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The intelligent video service in Office 365 Education allows users within a school community to create, upload and share videos easily and securely. Stream is a powerful tool for teaching and learning, and we have new features coming to Stream soon. These include web-based screen recording and editing tools that students and teachers can use to create learning materials and training videos; the ability to use the Stream mobile app to personalize and share videos through the integration of the Flipgrid camera; the use of voice enhance to help eliminate background noise from videos; and automatic transcripts and captions in new languages. New EDU Sticker Packs, such as mini monsters and international foods are coming soon to Teams for EDU, Class Notebook, and Whiteboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cm-edgetun.pages.dev\/en-us\/education\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Screen-Shot-2020-01-15-at-2.18.19-PM-1024x578-1.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"device-management-and-deployment\"><strong>Device Management and Deployment<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Making the most of your device investment during testing season<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many schools use online testing, and it\u2019s critical that students use a secure browser that doesn\u2019t allow the use of other computer or Internet resources during the test. The Take a Test app in Windows 10 creates a secure environment for taking a test. Now<a href=\"https:\/\/cm-edgetun.pages.dev\/en-us\/education\/intune\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>, Intune for Education<\/strong><\/a> has added the ability to configure Take a Test for local guest accounts. That means students can click a button on the Windows sign-in screen to launch a secure assessment and skip entering a password. For more information about Take a Test see, <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/education\/windows\/take-tests-in-windows-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Take tests in Windows 10<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/intune-education\/take-a-test-profiles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Add a Take a Test profile in Intune for Education<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other Intune for Education updates<\/strong><br><strong><br>View Win32 Apps from the Intune for Education portal<\/strong>: Intune recently added greater Win32 app management capabilities. With that, you can now see the Win32 apps that are configured in your tenant and manage the apps\u2019 group assignments from Intune for Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Perform bulk actions<\/strong>: You can now perform remote actions on up to 100 devices at a time.<br>These actions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Restart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Factory reset<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sync<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Autopilot Reset<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Delete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rename<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For bulk rename, you can apply a naming template to a group of selected devices, which includes a custom prefix appended by a unique identifier. The unique identifier can be a serial number, a counter, or a Wi-Fi MAC address.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Included in this is being able to Autopilot Reset and Rename devices in bulk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Manage VPP token restrictions<\/strong>: You can now restrict app access for administrators, meaning you can put restrictions on your VPP (Apple Volume Purchase Program) tokens to ensure only certain administrators can see and manage certain apps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Manage Windows Autopilot<\/strong>: To reduce the burden on School IT administrators, <a href=\"https:\/\/educationblog.microsoft.com\/en-us\/2019\/10\/now-available-set-up-student-and-teacher-devices-with-windows-autopilot-in-intune-for-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Windows Autopilot in Intune<\/strong><\/a> for Education is no longer managed. Windows Autopilot is a cloud-based provisioning technology that provides a streamlined device setup process with little IT intervention required. From the Intune for Education portal you will be able to do the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Configure Autopilot deployment profiles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create dynamic groups for Autopilot-registered devices based on group tags<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor device deployments in the Autopilot deployment report<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review devices deployment information under Windows Autopilot details<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To learn more, see<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/intune-education\/windows-autopilot-setup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&nbsp;<strong>Set up devices with Windows Autopilot and Intune for Education<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Configure settings for the new Microsoft Edge browser<\/strong>: You can now configure settings to manage the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoftedgeinsider.com\/en-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>new Microsoft Edge browser<\/strong><\/a>. This means settings like \u201cConfigure homepages\u201d now work for the existing Edge browser and the new Edge browser.
