The System Center Service Manager Exchange Connector 5.0 connects Service Manager to Exchange Online by using Microsoft Graph API authentication for processing incoming emails related to work items. The connector can monitor Exchange Online mailboxes and create or update work items based on administrator-defined templates. By specifying special keywords in incoming emails, administrators can configure the Exchange Connector to perform actions such as approving or rejecting review activities, or enable activity implementers to mark their assigned activities as completed.
Important
Microsoft announced that Exchange Web Services (EWS) in Exchange Online will begin retirement in October 2026. Customers using Exchange Online are recommended to migrate from EWS-based Exchange Connector deployments to Exchange Connector 5.0, which uses Microsoft Graph API authentication, to help ensure continued connectivity.
