NerdioCon isn\u2019t just a tech conference\u2014it\u2019s a vibrant partner-first gathering designed to celebrate innovation, collaboration, and the Microsoft Cloud ecosystem. With more than 500 attendees from across the globe, the event was filled with stories of transformation, strategy, and practical innovation.<\/p>\n<p>We captured the energy and insights of the event in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GpTZJPQga3c\">special podcast episode<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLz7jPMmpNrjntZoJUkpHSUDSc2y64IBNW\">recorded exclusive video interviews<\/a> with Microsoft partners and leaders.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-wrap\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video\" title=\"Live from NerdioCon: Exclusive Interviews and Insights for MSPs\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/GpTZJPQga3c?feature=oembed&#038;rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h3><strong>Why the MSP community shows up for NerdioCon<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At NerdioCon 2025, the palm trees aren\u2019t the only things thriving\u2014so is the sense of community. For many attendees, this conference is a rare blend of strategic insight and peer-to-peer connection.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s our fourth year doing this in person,&#8221; said Joseph Landes, Co-Founder and CRO at Nerdio. &#8220;And it\u2019s amazing to look at the variety of partners and clients who come here to learn about innovation based on the Microsoft Cloud.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>For Jeremy Regehr, CEO of Inspiris, NerdioCon\u2019s value goes beyond the stage. &#8220;We transitioned from being an on-prem MSP to having no customers on-prem at all, and that wouldn\u2019t have been possible without Nerdio.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This year, Pax8 brought more than 35 MSP partners to the event. That kind of commitment speaks volumes about NerdioCon\u2019s relevance to today\u2019s partner landscape. Oguo Atuanya, Corporate VP at Pax8, explained: &#8220;Nerdio is one of our premier Accelerate partners and the only global IP we have. Being here gives us the chance to support them and see how MSPs are using the technology.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As Scott Manchester, VP for Windows Cloud at Microsoft, shared: &#8220;It feels like living in a college dorm room for a week. You bump into people all day long, and that\u2019s where the real value lies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>No more leaving money on the table<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Our Americas GPS breakout session this year focused on a high-impact theme: helping MSPs modernize from on-premises services into the adaptive cloud. A big focus was a model that explored migrating Remote Desktop Services (RDS) running on SPLA licensing to <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/virtual-desktop\/overview\">Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)<\/a>\u2014and doing so in a way that maximizes partner profitability.<\/p>\n<p>The room was full, and the conversations spilled over long after the session ended. \u201cYou could feel the hook land when we showed the real-world economics,\u201d said Fernando <span data-teams=\"true\">Peoples<\/span>. Using a 10,000-user example, the session highlighted how SPLA-based licensing alone cost around $1.24 million annually, while the equivalent AVD deployment\u2014<em>including<\/em> infrastructure and Nerdio\u2014came in lower. \u201cOne partner said, \u2018You\u2019re selling me the whole car for the same price I was paying for the leather seats,\u2019\u201d Fernando recalled. Joseph Landes reinforced this point with a powerful analogy: \u201cIf you&#8217;re building a house, why would you put in windows that are 25 years old? You\u2019d get the most up-to-date windows. It&#8217;s the same with desktop virtualization. Why stick with RDS when we have AVD and Cloud PC? These technologies offer so much more innovation and opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Randy Kearn from Choice Solutions, the session proved to be a turning point. Coming in unfamiliar with Microsoft\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/aka.ms\/dco\">Datacenter Optimization (DCO)<\/a> team, he left with immediate ideas to act on. \u201cWe\u2019re leaving money on the table,\u201d he said after exploring the Arc-enabled SQL use case. Pax8\u2019s Angelika Schmeing summed up the opportunity: \u201cIt was an eye-opener to see how many MSPs still don\u2019t know about the program. We\u2019re seeing real success with those who engage.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Announcements from Microsoft and Nerdio\u2014innovation across the stack<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This year\u2019s announcements were as dynamic as the crowd. Microsoft\u2019s announcements, presented by Scott Manchester, focused on platform advancements including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Migration API for Windows 365<\/strong>, enabling automated Cloud PC creation from VHDs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>New disaster recovery options<\/strong>, including Disaster Recovery Plus and Cross-Region DR for enhanced resilience.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Security updates<\/strong>, such as token refresh configuration and improved mobile application management.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expanded capabilities<\/strong> in the Windows app, including Android support and tighter integration with mobile management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the Nerdio side, the theme was clear: deeper insights and complete control. Key innovations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Telemetry-powered right-sizing<\/strong> tools to ensure customers are matched to the right Windows 365 SKU\u2014avoiding over-provisioning and helping partners &#8220;rightsize their budget.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Desktop-as-a-Service modeler<\/strong> to guide pre- and post-migration planning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expanded support for Azure GovCloud<\/strong> in Nerdio Manager for MSPs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>AI-powered diagnostics<\/strong> for rapid troubleshooting and increased visibility across Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Intune.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As Joseph Landes explained, \u201cWe\u2019ve been working closely with Microsoft to deliver enhanced functionality. And this year we shared it all with our community, from Cloud PC to modern work to new enterprise capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Looking ahead\u2014join the conversation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>NerdioCon wasn\u2019t just about what happened on stage, it was about what partners took home.
